Effinno Technologies Debuts Its Novel Training Course – Shrinkage & Warpage of Injection Molding
Organized by SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers) Taiwan and supported by PIDC (Plastics Industry Development Center) Taiwan, the novel one-day training course of Effinno Technologies – Shrinkage & Warpage of Injection Molding – debuted in Taichung, Taiwan, on December 15, 2022.
It’s fair to say that shrinkage and warpage are the most challenging issues in the injection molding industry. Effinno designs this systematic and lean one-day course and hopes it can help the industry to avoid and effectively solve shrinkage and warpage problems.
The learning journey started by leading the participants to know the microstructure of plastic material, its natural characteristic, and how its behavior causes shrinkage and warpage of an injection molded part;
followed by developing three sets of remedy paths to combat warpage issues individually from part design, mold design, and process condition points of view;
then proceeded to learn how simulation tools and technology can help to acquire a design combination of plastic material, part design, and mold design, which is predicted the least risk among options in incurring warpage problems;
and finally, ended by learning how to implement a Taguchi DOE (Design of Experiments) at the real-world injection machine to extract the optimal process condition which produces a minimum level of warpage that the whole injection molding engineering system can perform.
