Organized by PIDC (Plastics Industry Development Center) Taiwan, Effinno Technologies delivered the public one-day training course [The Skills of Injection Molding Condition Optimization - Taguchi DOE (Design of Experiments)] in Taichung, Taiwan, on October 7, 2022.
In the day’s training, all can be applied in a lean manner at their real machines in factories, the participants learned a step-by-step procedure for implementing an official and complete shop floor Taguchi DOE (L18), how to do the experiment data analysis, how to derive an optimum process condition, and how to deal with a multi-quality-characteristic requirement.
Being a molder, you might wonder whether a process condition you have worked out has been optimum, and it’s not likely that you can find an even better one even though more trial times are given.
Also, you might wonder, when other molders claim that they have worked out an optimum process condition, how to objectively prove or disprove the claims despite their experiences and the consumed trial time.
Further, when trial failures continue at meeting a quality target, you might wonder when and how to confidently and aptly communicate with the part designer and mold designer, with convincing data supported, that the pillar - process condition – has been at its best on the current part design and mold design, and it’s time to consider a part design or mold design change to upgrade the whole engineering system’s performance.
